That’s the working title of our latest documentary and the reason for our recent trips to Genting Highlands. In a nutshell, the film’s about a Kenyan shoeshine boy who wants to become the first African to break into the world of professional cycling. And eventually ride in the Tour de France. And, oh, shatter a few records along the way.
Sounds absurd? We’ve seen the young man in action, filmed him, timed him and watched him ride up Genting (said to be the world’s fifth toughest climb). We’re believers.
Why the working title? It’s the literal translation for Zakayo Nderi. That’s the name of our Kenyan friend. It describes him perfectly. Remember it. We think it will mean something someday.
